Tips & other items recently changed

Way back we had starting trouble (1.8vvc version) - the solution was to change the battery to an Exide 450CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) the origional Metro battery was only 350 or 380CCA.
During early April 2011 the ignition warning light came on - an alternator failure, it had been in our Libra 10years.
Suspension problems had contributed to damage (speed bump) to the front trim around the number plate & these (we have two) are both awaiting final repairs.
Water damage to origional driving lamps, then one of the new ones suffered a stone impact, we changed that yesterday 12/05/2011.

As we were doing the suspension work we noticed that the nearside engine/gearbox mount was not as it should be, it appears that others have had the problem.

The suggested solution is to fill in the spaces within the mount with two part Polyurethane casting rubber Shore A70 hardness, this we have now done.  Apparently one of the benefits is better gear changing, we will post our comment here later.
